Most nail problems are caused die to picking or biting of nails. It also includes overuse of polish removers, glues and other harmful chemicals.
TYPES OF NAIL PROBLEMS :
- Soft spoon shaped nails that curve upward point to iron deficiency anemia.
- Round , club shaped nails indicate either impaired circulation or a serious lung disorder.
- Thickened, discolored nails may be due to fungal infection.
- Psoriasis can cause pitting
- Horizontal ridges may indicate a systemic infection or debilitating illness.

- Lean meat
- Poultry
- Fish
- Vitamin C
- Citrus fruits
- B vitamins and folate
- Dark green leafy vegetables
- Whole grain products
- Legume
- Fruit juices
PREVENTION:
- Consume high quality protein from lean meat, poultry, fish, seafood and other animal products
- A combination of grain products and legumes will also supply complete protein.
- Include iron rich foods in your diet. Sources include lean meat, poultry, fish ,seafood ,dried apricots and enriched cereals and breads.
- Also include rich sources of folate in your diet. Sources include whole grains, legumes, dark green leafy vegetables, peas, nuts and orange juice.
AVOID:
Avoid overuse of Polish removers and other harsh chemicals
