Low blood sugar in the blood is known as hypoglycemia. This happens when there is increased amount of insulin in blood than required for metabolism.
CAUSES OF HYPOGLYCEMIA :
- Person with diabetes taking too much insulin
- Overconsumption of alcohol
- Taking large amounts of aspirin, beta blockers and some antipsychotic drugs.
QUICK FIX FOOS:
- 1/2cup of any fruit juice
- 1cup milk
- 1 or 2 teaspoons of sugar or honey
- 5 to 6 pieces of hard candy

FOODS TO AVOID:
- Only carbohydrates in a meal
- Only sugars in snacks
FOODS TO INCLUDE:
- A Balance of carbohydrate, protein and fats in small meals

SYMPTOMS OF HYPOGLYCEMIA :
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Hunger
- Trembling
- Palpitations
- Irritability
INSULIN OVERDOSE :
A much more serious type of hypoglycemia occurs when a diabetic patient takes more insulin than needed. It results in symptoms like sweating, fainting, dizziness, impaired vision palpitations. A quick response like a spoon or sugar or honey or any juice is to be given to such people.
