BURNS
Burns refers to the damage of skin which can be caused by fire accidents, electric shocks, some harmful chemicals or even high exposure to sun.
TYPES OF BURNS:
- 1st degree burns: In this type of burn, there is visible redness or dryness on the outer layer of the skin. It can also be sunburn.
- 2nd degree burns: In this type of burn, painful blisters may appear as the epidermis and lower layer of dermis is affected.
- 3rd degree burns: In this type of burn, the burn reaches upto the innermost layer of the skin. The skin looks charred .
- 4th degree burns: In this type of burn, the damage reached upto the muscle and bone. The person is unable to feel anything in the burnt area.

- Caffeinated beverages
- Alcohol
- Tea
Foods to be included:
- For healing and tissue repair
Protein and zinc rich foods
- Lean meat
- Poultry
- Fish
- Shellfish
- Eggs
- Legumes
Vitamin C rich foods

DIETARY MANAGEMENT FOR BURNS:
- A well balanced diet including extra calories, proteins, vitamins and minerals is essential for healing and repairing the skin.
- Plenty of fluids is needed to repaired the damaged skin and also to prevent dehydration.
- Vitamin C plays a vital role in repairing the damages skin so, consuming vitaminC rich foods is beneficial
- Caffeine should to be limited as it results in fluid loss
- Consumption of alcohol reduces immunity and henceforth it should be completely avoided.
